Orlando’s ICON Park ~Sip n’ Savor~
Hello fellow travelers...
As many of you know, we live in the Orlando area, which means that there are always fun events happening all around. We recently got the opportunity to experience the “Sip n’ Savor” event at ICON Park as well as trying out some of ICON Park’s exciting attractions!
What is ICON Park?
For those of you who have been to Orlando recently, it’s hard to miss the jaw dropping 400 ft. observation wheel towering over the I-Drive area. At its base lies ICON Park, a 20-acre entertainment district that gives its visitors the ability to explore different rides, partake in different culinary experiences, and indulge in many drink specials at some very fun bars.
Attractions for all ages!
Going up!!
Since we moved to the Orlando area, we have always wanted to check out the feature attraction of the area, The Wheel! This colossal observation wheel is over 400 ft high (40 stories up) and it feels like you can see all of Florida from the top.
Needless to say, we had an incredible experience. I would highly recommend everyone to try this at least once.
Special Events: Sip n’ Savor
To display some of ICON Park’s delicious restaurants, several venues set up booths all around the Lawn and offered two to three small-plates so as to let guests sample some of the restaurants signature menu items. This was a great way for visitors to try different delicious recipes from the chefs to make them.
First Stop: Tapa Toro
Second Stop: The Ox Grill
One of the newest additions to the ICON Park family is the The Ox Grill, which features delicious contemporary food from all around the globe! They let us try their delicious Filet Mignon steak with topped with shrimp! Let’s just say you didn’t even need a knife to cut through this delicious dish! Check out their website here for more information on their savory dishes.
Third Stop: The Tank Brewing Co.
Based out of Miami Florida, The Tank Brewing Company let visitors sample some of their delicious craft beers! Since my husband is a true beer aficionado, I knew he would enjoy sampling some of their artisanal beer and boy was I correct. They can truly brew some flavorful beer that any hops would be proud to be part of. Check out their website for more information on their liquid innovations from South Florida.
Fourth Stop: Outback Steakhouse
As many of you know, I love Australia and I truly enjoy all that Outback Steakhouse has to offer. They had a cute little spring wheel that allowed visitors to Spin & Win! We were lucky enough to with a free Blooming Onion, which is one of my favorite starters on the menu! We also got to sample some delicious steak and chicken pasta which Gabo absolutely loved! Check out their website here for more information on their menu from down under.
Fifth Stop: Carrabba’s Italian Grill
With their authentic Italian cuisine, who wouldn’t love to eat here? All their dishes are hand made with fresh ingredients that have been fast down from the founders of this restaurant. The flavors of these dishes make you feel that you are sitting in a Tuscan villa, enjoying lunch on a sunny day. We tried some of their delicious stuffed ravioli and I was in heaven. I can’t wait to go back and get some more! Check out their website here for more information on their delectable menu.
Sixth Stop: The Sausage Shack
The Wheelhouse marketplace offers an array of different internationally inspired foods including a recent addition, The Sausage Shack. This delicious walk up restaurant has a collection of different sausages presented in different international recipes. We were able to try the “Bangers and Mash,” which was delicious! If you are a meat lover, go check them out! Click here to get the details on where to go!
And lately, The Lawn Bar!
ICON Park has so many fun experiences for the whole family. I truly enjoyed my time there and I hope to participate in the 3rd annual Sip n’ Savor Events next year. If you are interested in checking out ICON Park and any fun upcoming events, click here for more details!
