Hello fellow travelers,
Recently, we received the opportunity to visit a very unique park in the Orlando area. And no, I don’t mean Disney or Universal. In our quest to find new and exciting adventures close to home, we came across a unique adventure park called Tree Trek Orlando.
About the Orlando Tree Trek
Orlando Tree Trek is a family-owned, 15-acre pine tree forest Adventure Park that welcomes guests of all ages! Located only 15 minutes from Disney theme parks, Tree Trek has an assortment of different activities that are exciting for all ability levels.
The Break Down
At Orlando Tree Trek, you’ll find 97 aerial games that range from kids courses to advanced! They have 4 courses that are designated as such:
- The Green Course- Is minimal elevation and requires minimal skills
- The Blue Course- medium elevation and requires medium skill level
- The Silver Course- advanced elevation and requires medium skill level
- The Red Course- advanced elevation and requires advanced skill level
- Two separate kids courses featuring 21 exciting challenges
Some of the neat features they have on these courses are:
- Tarzan Ropes
- Navigating Swing Logs
- Climbing ladders 50 ft. up
- Cross Wobbly Suspended Bridges,
- Balancing on Hanging Skate Boards
- Leaping into Hanging Nets
- Soaring Through the Trees on Giant Zip Lines
BONUS they have 425 ft. zip line, which is absolutely amazing!!! You feel ilke you are truly flying! It is certainly a MUST do!
The Experience
I honestly have never done a rope course and I was a little nervous but from the moment you walk in the establishment, you are greeted with incredibly friendly and helpful staff.
After checking in, you are taken outside where you will be fitted into your climbing gear.
Tip– I would highly recommends either brining your gym/climbing gloves from home or purchasing their hand gloves before you start climbing. You will be using your hands 100% during the courses and you need to get some hand protection because they will get very sore if you don’t.
After you are prepped, you are taken to the your first course (the practice course) where one of your guides will be showing the ropes (no pun intended). Our guide, Javier, was fantastic and reassured us on every step. He made this very nervous girl a lot more confident about being 10 feet or more in the air.
The Courses
Green Course- After you are done, you are off to the first course. I’m not going to lie, it was a little scary climbing up the ladder but once you reach the top, it’s game time and the fun begins!
Blue Course- Slightly higher but in my opinion that much more difficult! They had a fun swing that really tests your balancing skills!
Silver Course- This course was a little big tougher for me but still very fun! And ofcourse it has the AWESOME Tarzan swing in which you jump into a net! It was intense and my arms were killing me by the end! BUT SO MUCH FUN!
Red Course- Wow, when I say this was intesce, I mean it was intense! You are 50 ft. up in the air and the challenges are significantly more demanding. I am very greatful that I was able to complete this course but I did have my ups and many downs! But if you want to challenge yourself, try it!
You WILL Sweat
Although the challenges may not look like they will have you working up a sweat, trust me when I say they do! The best part is that once you had complete a course, a nice zip line awaits you to provide a nice breeze.
TIP: if you go, I would recommend you purchase the water stations package. You will be completing physical activity and it is crucial to stay hydrated, especially in the Florida heat. Since the nearest drinking fountain is at the Welcome Center, it is worth to pay the extra $3 for unlimited water bottles on the course.
Hours of Operation and Ticket Prices
Orlando Tree Trek is open daily at 8 am and groups depart every 30 minutes! The last departure time varies by season. I suggest you call them to set up a a reservation first.
TIP-Early morning is always better because the heat is not intense and it feels like you have the course for yourself! 😉
MY OVERALL THOUGHTS
If you’d like to try something completely unique that requires physical activity, then this experience is for you! They really cater to all ability levels and truly help guide you to reach your full potential. I have always wanted to try a rope course and I am so glad I had to the courage to complete all 4 of them! It is a great sense of accomplishment to go down that final zip line, exhausted but proud.
I’m not going to lie, but this was hard! I did fall down a couple of times but I got back up. The guides were super encouraging and gave me the boost I needed to keep going.
My true mission was to finish all of the courses and I did! I would absolutely recommend Tree Trek if you are in the Orlando area! You get a unique and adrenalin pumping experience with memories that will last you a lifetime. Also, you get bragging rights and who doesn’t love that? 😉
